Saturday I went grocery shopping. And I spend 3 times what I would normally spend in a week. I have got to start couponing - especially if I'm doing this healthy thing.
I just want to take a minute to dote on my family. They are awesome. I said I was walking 3 miles at 7 a.m. Sunday; they showed up at 6:55. Monday, I was doing homework at my aunts who arrived when I finished. She promptly invited me to walk with them. (2.2 miles)
I was aching. My shins were murdering me after the first .25 of the second walk. I just knew my legs would be jelly the next day.
But they weren't. They actually felt fine as I dragged myself across campus.
So here's the realization.
I can get moving.
It will be painful (in the moment.)
I will sweat.
But I will survive.

The Leap List
I've been doing a lot of math, Lord help us. Math has never been a strength of mine. I can do it (my mom's an accountant for crying out loud) I just don't like to. It's so tedious and you have to show work and... Not for me. I'm a final product kind of gal.
So when I wrote out my leap list I was ready for the final product to be done already. I don't think I went about this leap list right, by the way. Most people wrote something like:
1. Ride in a hot air balloon.
2. Run a marathon.
3. Visit France.
4. Marry my best friend.
5. Buy a house, etc, etc, etc...
Okay, so maybe I didn't go that far of course. The idea is you pick ten things to do before the next leap in your life (getting married, graduating college, turning 30...). There's no rhyme or reason to my list. So. Without further ado... Before I turn 25 I will...
1. Run a 5k.
I've registered for the Run for Your LIves: Zombie 5k on Nov. 9th. Plenty of training time, so that's exciting. Right now I can't run to save my life. Oh, the irony.
2. Go to a Braves game.
We live so close to Atlanta and have never done this. I'm pretty sure my bucket list will include visiting all MLB fields, so why not make number 2 Hotlanta?
3. Go to Hogwarts.
I'm pretty sure the owl misplaced my letter way back when. It's fine, whatever. But I am determined to at least visit. (Since I'm pretty sure they haven't made a way to travel into the works of literature we so love, Florida will have to suffice.)
4. Spend a day hiking.
I am basically preparing for zombies again with this one. And I also think nature is awesome. I just don't spend a lot of time in it. Which is something I very much want to change.
5. Go kayaking.
I've been canoeing. And I loved it. It was awesome. I very much want to do the kayaking thing now. Three times before 25? Okay.
6. Cook 100 different meals.
Basically we're focusing on entrees here. I may expand it to entrees and desserts. Or take the lazy way out and do 100 recipes. I'll figure it out.
7. Watch 100 award winning movies/movies I've never seen before.
This is where I'm sort of a genius, blogosphere. I'll be pairing this with the recipes. And blogging about it. Get ready.
8. Lose 100 pounds.
I still need 2 more. I'm kind of thinking "Go on a cruise" I mean, a girl only turns 25 once, right? I've already done a cruise but maybe I can find motivation to pay for this one all on my own. The tenth one is still a mystery to me. I'll let you know.
We can focus on #8 for one second. Maybe three. Because that's where the math comes in. As of today there are exactly 68 weeks until I turn 25. It's healthy to lose 2 lbs a week, right?
68x2=136
This gives me a 36 pound cushion people! Breaking it down like this makes it feel reachable. And gives me hope.
Started tonight by doing a few crunches. Felt good. (By good I mean it burned like it was supposed to.) When I called my "personal trainer" and told her I couldn't really start anything until Saturday she told me no. And ordered the crunches. And she was right.
I have got to get out of that "It can wait" mindset. I mean, I only have 68 weeks.
